WELCOME TO BISHOPS LYDEARD CRICKET CLUB,
The Premier West Somerset village club, pictured above, set in the picturesque surroundings of the Quantock foothills. Website-Updated 17th May 2008.
We have 2 senior teams who play Saturday league cricket and 3 junior teams u11, u13 & u15 and are in the process of completing the clubmark accreditation scheme.
In 2007 our 1st XI narrowly missed out on promotion and the 2nd XI's were runners-up in their league. Our 1st XI will this season again play in the Somerset division of the WEPL and our 2nd XI in the 2nd division of the 2nd XI Somerset league following 2 successive promotions.
The club is flourishing, and after the hard work with the youth policy now paying dividends, the future is bright at the Club.
You couldn’t wish for a better location to play at in Somerset. Our practice facilities boast 2 grass nets, an artificial net and bowling machine. The ground is again looking fantastic, thanks to the continued hard work by our groundsman, Dave Wood.
Touring/wandering teams can be accomodated with a fixture either on Sundays or midweek evenings when you will be warmly welcomed at the bar. Please contact teffers007@hotmail.com for possible dates.
